Relaxing stay with a friendly host, but the shared shower may be awkward for some. Unique desert experience!

Ernest, the host, created a welcoming atmosphere from the moment I arrived. The home itself is beautifully designed, sitting peacefully among the desert landscape. Breakfasts were a highlight each morning, featuring delicious homemade options that kept me energized for the day’s adventures. I particularly enjoyed the relaxing mineral hot tub, which was maintained perfectly and offered an amazing soak after exploring Joshua Tree National Park. The location was quiet and remote, providing a true escape. However, the shared bathroom situation felt a bit awkward at times, which might not be suitable for everyone. The room decor appeared dated, and a deeper cleaning would enhance the overall stay, especially in the corners where dust was noticeable.

The large mineral water hot tub was a perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring the local area.
The room could benefit from a thorough dusting, especially in the corners and ceilings.

turtle back mesa is not even in indio, it's in indio hills. can you say inconvenience? also, the shared shower was a complete disaster, walls might as well have been paper thin. one would think special treatment comes with the price, a chocolate on the pillow or something would have been nice. just couldn't give them a better rating.

What makes it worth it – and what doesn’t
Ernest offered remarkable hospitality, sharing captivating tales while we enjoyed delicious breakfasts prepared right in front of us. The peaceful atmosphere and artistic outdoor areas are truly special and rejuvenating.
The policy allowing clothing optional can be surprising for some, and while the architecture is quirky, room decor felt outdated and could use an upgrade.

The shared shower situation felt awkward at times!!! The room decor could really use an update, it's quite dated. A thorough dusting wouldn't hurt either, as a bit of dust was noticeable in the corners.

We had a fantastic time soaking in the mineral water hot tub and enjoying the peaceful pool area every day. The relaxing atmosphere was just perfect for unwinding after our adventures in the nearby nature spots. The only thing I wish was different was having a bit more variety in the room decor, but it didn't take away from our great experience! 😊

Just a great match for a quick weekend visit in Indio Hills with best value for money ratio. Enjoyed relaxing in the naturally fed soaking tub, it was a highlight of the stay. Book the larger room for more privacy in the bath.

We had a great time hanging out at the relaxing pool and soaking in the hot tubs. The owners were super accommodating, adjusting the temperatures for us right away. We also explored the nearby Desert Adventures Metate Ranch and enjoyed the views from Empire Polo Club. Breakfast was delicious every morning, a perfect way to start our day!
The only downside was that the room could use a bit of dusting in the corners and ceilings. It didn't hinder our fun, but something to note for future visitors.

We had a lovely stay at this charming B&B. The hot soaking tubs were a highlight, especially after our adventures exploring the nearby Desert Adventures Metate Ranch. Having elderly parents with us made the relaxing atmosphere all the more appreciated, as they enjoyed the peaceful setting.
My kids wished for more family-friendly activities on-site.
